MTV has unveiled the nominees for the 2021 MTV EMAs, which will feature Nigeria’s, Ghana’s, Tanzania’s, and South Africa’s biggest artists in a variety of award categories.
Wizkid and Tems, both Nigerian celebrities, were nominated in the Best African Act category for their collaboration on the smash song “Essence.” Diamond Platnumz, Amaarae, and Focalistic are among the other artists in this area.
After the announcement, Tems said, “I’m extremely excited to be nominated for the Best African Act at the MTV EMAs. The last few years have been crazy and I am just grateful to God for all the blessings so far. I am honoured to be a part of the amazing voices from our continent who are breaking barriers and redefining music globally.”
