The country, according to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) staunch member, requires a Prime Minister who will be nominated by the President.
He stated that the Prime Minister will be in charge of government affairs. In an interview with Citi TV in Accra, he stated that the Vice President’s powers are limited.
“Any power you have depends on what the president wants you to do, but unfortunately for our vice presidents, some of the powers given to them in the constitution were taken away by Jerry John Rawlings, such as being the Chairman of the Police Council or the Chairman of the Defense Council, because of his problems with the late Kow Nkensen Arkaah, the Vice President, he asked parliament to take all of them away because of his problems with the late Kow Nkensen Arkaah”.
When asked if a Vice President was necessary, he replied, “Well, personally, I don’t think we need it.” It isn’t useless, but what is a vice president’s true power?”
“They have great power over America. ” So you’d want to have a president and a prime minister? “Yes,” he replied. The president appoints you to lead his government as Prime Minister.”
