An Adentan Circuit Court sentenced a painter to 20 years in prison for defiling his girlfriend’s 13-year-old daughter.
Fred Acquaye, 54, is accused of defiling the victim twice after his fiancée left for church.
Acquaye, who was charged with defilement, pled guilty with an explanation. When the victim told him she was hot, he said he went to pour water on her in the bathroom.
Acquaye claimed he couldn’t remember what transpired before he had intercourse with the female on the second occasion.
Mrs Sedinam Awo Balokah, who presided over the court, said that the accused’s explanation verified his guilt.
Inspector Gloria Ayim, prosecuting, said the complainant, a 32-year-old entrepreneur, lived with the victim, a Junior High School student, at Odumase Krobo.
She claimed the victim went on holiday to Amanfrom in December 2021 and met the accused, who is now a convict, as her mother’s lover.
According to the report, the victim returned to Odumase Krobo after spending her vacation at her mother’s house.
The complainant noticed some changes in her, and when she questioned her, the victim revealed that Acquaye had intercourse with her on two separate occasions when her mother was at church.
According to the prosecution, Acquaye informed the girl after the crime that she would die if she told anybody else.
According to the article, she filed a police report and was given a medical paperwork to fill out in order to seek medical help.
According to the prosecution, a pregnancy test was performed and the results were positive.
Furthermore, on March 6, 2022, a scan revealed that the victim was nine weeks and one day pregnant.
