In what was the biggest and longest protest in recent years in the country, last year Nigeria youths took to the streets to protest and call for the disbandment of SARS, a popular police unit whilst also calling for a better standard of governance in the country dubbed EndSars.
The youth became fed up of the difficulties and the inhumane acts they had to undergo being meted out to them in their own country. This peaceful protest went on for several days until the Nigeria military opened fire on the innocent protestors this day last year unprovoked.
The Nigeria youths in solidarity are having a memorial today with the trending hashtag #EndSARSMemorial to commemorate their colleagues who lost their life and got injured calling for the betterment of their country.
