After a dispute over suspected adultery, a pregnant woman, said to be in her early 30s, was allegedly slain by her husband.
The event occurred on Saturday in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region’s Nyankyerenease.
According to tenants in the house where the crime occurred, Kwame Maxwell, 40, fatally stabbed Betty after she accused him of cheating. Kwame Maxwell is on the run right now.
Before the tragedy, an eyewitness who claimed to be the landlady stated she heard the deceased pleading for help at night.
According to her, she later saw the suspect emerge from his room with his hands stained with blood, attempting to wipe it away.
Betty was unconscious in a pool of blood when the landlady entered the couple’s room, according to the landlord.
“I was startled awake from my sleep when I heard a woman [Betty] yelling for aid. ‘He’s murdering me…’ she screamed. ‘Please come and assist me.’
“With my son, we went outside and discovered that the scream was coming from the pregnant woman’s chamber.” However, because all of the lights in the room were turned off, we couldn’t see what was going on inside.
“Then I noticed the suspect exiting the room, his hands smeared with blood… He was wiping the stains off his hands with his wife’s nightwear.
“The two have been living in harmony, usually traveling together whenever they go out,” she explained, “so we had no reason to believe Kwame could truly knife Betty to death.”
The police have been notified of the occurrence, and an investigation has begun.
