Hand over Funny Face’s phone, Court orders Police

The Kaneshie District Court has ordered the police to hand over Comedian Funny Face’s phone as soon as possible.

On October 18, 2021, Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, also known as Funny Face, was arrested after threatening to kill Vanessa Nicole, the mother of his children.

His phone was confiscated by the cops, and he was arrested pending further inquiry.

On November 2, he was granted bail with two sureties in the amount of GH20,000.

Funny Face told the court on Wednesday that he had signed a deal with Lantan Soya Milk that obliged him to advertise their products on his social media channels on a regular basis, and that he would need his phone to fulfill the conditions of that contract.

ASP Sylvester Asare, the Police Prosecutor, objected to the defendant’s motion, claiming that the inquiry was still ongoing and that the cell phone would be required during the investigation.

The sitting judge, His Worship Kofi Oheneba-Kuffour, ordered the phone to be released immediately.

The case has been rescheduled until January 4, 2022.

On October 20, 2021, the Accra Mental Hospital was instructed to undertake a psychiatric assessment on Funny Face.

He was also ordered to travel to the Police Hospital in Accra for a substance addiction evaluation.

After two medical checks, the comedian was released from the Accra Psychiatric Hospital. He is currently facing charges of threatening to kill.

Meanwhile, Funny Face has announced that an album titled “Aseda” would be released soon.

The album, he claims, will convey the story of his difficulties.
