FDA seizes, destroys substandard medicines worth GH¢10m 

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has confiscated medicines of substandard in the country.

Several bottles of bynillin nicotine, cartons of Postinor-2; Chinese herbal medicines, and some aphrodisiacs worth GHS₵10 million were confiscated.

Mr Vigil Prah-Eshun, Head of Intelligence at FDA said the medicines were seized because they had not been registered.

He said the medications and items will be destroyed at the Adepa Landfill site, Nsawam. 
He further cautioned the public to be wary of fake medicines on the market.
