The Ghana Black Stars will be hoping Ethiopia do not meet the deadline given to them by CAF so they can play the return leg on home soil.
According to sports journalist, Owuraku Ampofo, the stadium planned to host the match against Ghana in Ethiopia has been banned by CAF and Ethiopia has been given up to 20th October to find a new venue.
He continued by stating that, according to CAF rules, the match will be hosted in Ghana if Ethiopia do not meet CAF’s deadline.

“CAF has banned the Bahir Dar Stadium in Ethiopia from hosting international matches. The stadium was supposed to host Ethiopa vs
Ghana’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Per the ban on the stadium, Ethiopia will now host the Black Stars at a neutral venue when they meet next month. The Ethiopia Football Federation has been given up to Wednesday 20 October 2021 to submit a new venue for the upcoming game.
If Ethiopia fail to reply the CAF mandate, the tie will be played in Ghana per the rules of the World Cup qualifiers”
