The President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Akuffo-Addo is said to have taken it upon himself to pay for the surgery of the conjoined twins at the Ridge Hospital in Accra. In a twitter post by popular Tv3 journalist Johnnie Hughes, he stated that the Chief of Staff at the presidency made the announcement on behalf of the President.
This will come as a brilliant news to the families of the twins as Doctors cautioned the children may not survive if surgery is not done as soon as possible.
The story of the conjoined twins came to the limelight when renowned journalist and Managing Director of GhOne Tv Nana Aba Anamoah lead the appeal for people to donate to help the twins undergo the surgery.
After the news of the President’s goodwill action, many people were suggesting the money contributed so far to be used to cater for the twins after the surgery, but according to Nana Aba, she was contacted by Ridge Hospital to raise funds for the twins hence she has to account to the hospital.
Thank you Mr. President for coming to the aid of the twins. We are grateful.
