After six years, Martha Bissah apologises to Ghana Athletics Association

Martha Bissah, a Ghanaian athlete based in the United States, has written to Professor Francis Dodoo and the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) to apologize for falsely accusing them.

Bissah had been suspended from the GAA indefinitely since 2016 after she accused the organization’s officials, led by Professor Dodoo.

Following her statements, which the GAA deemed indiscipline and peddling lies against the association, the Olympic young gold medalist was suspended.

While negotiating on a scholarship for Bissah to travel to the United States after winning gold at the 2014 Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China, she and her entourage accused the GAA of extortion.

She was asked to issue an apology to the parties involved in order to see her ban lifted.

Bissah has now written a letter to the GAA as she begins the steps to resolve the situation.

According to JoySports, checks also reveals that the National Sports Authority has received a copy of the letter.
